  • Our client is a full-fledged Microfinance Bank duly licensed and regulated by the Central Bank of Nigeria to provide banking services to individuals, businesses, and the public sector. The primary focus is to provide holistic financial services and solutions to improve the livelihood of our customers.
     
    Job Summary: The Company is seeking to hire a competent Finance Officer, who will be in charge of its financial health by overseeing the overall financial operations. Budget planning, audit participation, transaction monitoring, and invoice preparation will be among the job responsibilities. Ultimately, the finance officer will be in charge of managing the financial transactions and processes daily.
     
     


General Duties
    • Constantly reviewing and revising Compliance policies, including corporate governance and anti-money laundering.
    • Respond to regulators about AML/Sanctions compliance, consumer protection, and data privacy. 
    • Develop, implement, and execute the internal compliance training program. 
    • Work closely with Legal on all Compliance, Risk Management, and Business Development matters across Africa. 
    • Liaise with regulators, including coordination for any regulatory on-site inspections across the company’s operating locations.
    • Ensure suspicious transaction reports, screening, and KYC are fully investigated in line with regulatory requirements. 
    • Support applications for and continuing maintenance of FinTech-related business licenses.
    • Assess various risks such as – country, customer, product, and cyber and report to Management and Board.
    • Carry out Companywide AML/TF Internal Risk Assessment.
    • Pre-empt, prevent, and correct compliance breaches. 
    • Stay updated on industry developments and new FCA, AML, and KYC rules and regulations.
    • Provide compliance regulatory risk assessment and program implementation. 
    • Escalate regulatory risks and policy breaches or discrepancies, wherever necessary to the appropriate authority. 
    • Implement compliance frameworks of digital payment to ensure a smooth launch into new markets and new products. 
       

Skills
    • HND/BSC in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or any related field.
    • Professional Certification in ACCA/ICAN is a must
    • Strong knowledge of working with Accounting and Financial Software such as Sage, QuickBooks, etc.
    • 3-5 years’ work experience as a Finance Officer in the Financial Technology sector.
    • Excellent knowledge of financial and accounting procedures.
    • Advanced MS Excel skills.
    • Excellent time management skills.
    • Excellent numerical and analytical skills.
    • Knowledge of financial regulations.
    • Experience working in a fast-paced Fintech is a major advantage
    • Excellent Financial Modelling Skills
