Job Summary
  • We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Control Room Manager to oversee the operations of the control room at a locomotive train station. The Control Room Manager will be responsible for managing a team of operators and ensuring the safe and efficient operation of trains in and out of the station.


General Duties
    • Manage and supervise a team of control room operators, ensuring compliance with safety procedures and protocols
    • Monitor and control the flow of trains in and out of the station, ensuring that trains are on time and that schedules are met
    • Manage communication between train crews, station staff, and other relevant parties to ensure smooth operations
    • Respond to emergencies and incidents in a timely and effective manner, and coordinate with emergency services as required
    • Ensure that all necessary records and logs are kept up to date and that all reports are submitted on time
    • Ensure that all equipment is in good working order and that any faults or defects are promptly reported and rectified
    • Continuously review and improve operational procedures and processes to enhance efficiency and safety
    • Develop and implement training programs for control room operators, including safety training, technical training, and customer service training
    • Manage budget and resources, ensuring that expenditures are within budget and that resources are used effectively
    • Perform other related duties as required

Skills
  • Qualifications:

    • Minimum of HND or BSC in any related field
    • At least 2-4 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a train station or transportation environment
    • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with a range of stakeholders
    • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to work well under pressure
    • Strong organizational and planning skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively
    • Sound knowledge of train station operations and procedures, including safety protocols and regulations
    • Proficient in the use of computer systems and software applications relevant to train station operations
