Job Summary

As a Business Development Officer, you will be a key driver in growing the client payment solution in Nigeria. Your role is to identify, build strategic partnerships with educational institutions, financial institutions, and payment system providers, while driving revenue growth of the organization. This position demands both strategic thinking and hands-on execution. You will be taking ownership, solving problems on the go, and contributing directly to our market penetration and revenue targets.

Responsibilities

Market Development & Lead Generation
•Conduct detailed market mapping to identify target customer segments (private schools, school associations, government agencies, NGOs in education).
•Develop and maintain a pipeline of qualified leads using a mix of field visits, digital outreach, cold calls, referrals, and school events.
•Identify and pursue partnership opportunities with school associations, regulatory bodies, and fintech ecosystem players.
Client Acquisition & Relationship Management
•Prepare and deliver persuasive presentations to school proprietors, bursars, parent-teacher associations, and boards.
•Serve as the primary point of contact for new clients during the onboarding phase and initial months of usage.
•Monitor customer satisfaction, gather regular feedback, and resolve issues in collaboration with Customer Support and Product teams.
•Identify cross-sell and upsell opportunities
Product Knowledge & Solution Design
•Understand the product's full suite of services and tailor pitches to specific client needs.
•Collaborate with the product and technical teams to customize solutions for large clients.
Go-to-Market Execution
•Assist in the execution of marketing campaigns and on-ground activations.
•Represent the client at trade shows, education summits, PTA forums, and fintech innovation gatherings
•Contribute to the development of promotional materials and digital content relevant to the Nigerian education market.
Reporting & Feedback
•Maintain accurate CRM data on all prospects, opportunities, and accounts.
•Prepare weekly and monthly activity reports: outreach metrics, pipeline status and performance vs. targets.
Provide competitive intelligence and market feedback to inform product development and pricing strategy.



Requirements

•Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, Education, or a related field.
•5–7 years of relevant experience in B2B sales, field marketing, account management, or business development. Experience in similar industry is preferred.
•Previous experience selling to schools, edtech, or fintech products is highly advantageous.
•Proficiency in digital tools (CRM systems, Google Workspace, MS Office).
•Fluency in English; knowledge of local languages is an advantage.
