As a Finance Supervisor you will play a pivotal role in managing financial transactions, ensuring compliance with tax regulations, and contributing to the company's financial health. Your responsibilities will include tracking and making loan and interest repayments, invoicing clients, managing various taxes (e.g., company income tax, WHT, VAT), vendor payments, and maintaining cash flow cycles.
.Accounting Policies & Procedures:
•Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures and manage outsourced functions to ensure the company’s financial integrity.
Treasury Operations:
•Oversee the operations of the treasury unit, including the design of an organizational structure adequate for achieving the department’s goals and objectives.
•Forecast cash flow positions, related borrowing needs, and available funds for investment
Capital & Financial Management:
•Ensure that sufficient funds are available to meet ongoing operational and capital investment requirements.
•Use hedging strategies to mitigate financial risks related to the interest rates on the company’s borrowings, as well as foreign exchange positions.
•Arrange for equity and debt financing, as needed, and invest surplus funds
Budgeting & Reporting:
•Manage the preparation of the company’s budget, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and operational plans.
•Report on variances from the established budget, providing explanations for deviations.
Strategic Planning & Analysis:
•Assist the Directors in the formulation and execution of the company’s strategic functions, offering insights on financial trends and opportunities for growth.
Financial Analysis & Performance:
•Interpret the company’s financial results to management, providing actionable recommendations to improve financial performance and operational efficiency.
Target Costing & Product Pricing:
•Participate in target costing activities to create products that meet predetermined price goals, ensuring competitiveness without sacrificing quality.
Business Metrics & KPIs:
•Compile key business metrics, including financial and operational KPIs, and report regularly to the Directors for informed decision-making.
•Manage the capital budgeting process, using constraint analysis and discounted cash flow (DCF) analysis to evaluate investment opportunities
Credit & Confidentiality:
•Oversee the extension of credit to customers, ensuring compliance with credit policies and that risk is minimized.
Compliance & Governance:
•Ensure compliance with financial regulations and accounting standards, local tax regulations, and industry-specific standards.
Risk Management:
•Identify and mitigate financial risks, including liquidity risk, credit risk, and market risk, and provide management with appropriate recommendations to minimize exposure.
Tax Strategy:
•Develop and implement tax strategies to optimize tax liabilities and ensure compliance with local, federal and international tax regulations.
•Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field – first class is a plus.
•Professional certification (e.g., ACCA, ICAN) is a plus.
•Proven experience as an Accountant, preferably in a similar industry or role
•Strong understanding of Nigerian tax regulations and compliance.
